Robert "Bob" Mahan Park's formal dedication is scheduled for Saturday, May 10th at 10:30 am. (aka W-53)

About the namesake:
Born in 1927, Robert P. "Bob" Mahan is the third son of Maurice Thomas Mahan and Irene Rooney Mahan. In 1950, he married Gloria Zerbe – daughter of Bert and Thelma Tehan Zerbe.
In World War II, Bob served aboard the USS Admiral Capps as a member of the United States Coast Guard. Bob started his public career serving two years as President of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce. He served on the Roseville City Council for over seven years (1959-1967) and served as Mayor for two of those years. He represented the City of Roseville on the Placer County Board of Education for thirteen years and served on the Placer County Board of Supervisors for twenty four years (1967-1992).
Bob is recognized for his many contributions towards the development of public buildings in Roseville including Fire Station #1, the Placer County Sheriff's Substation, and the main court house of the Placer County Superior Court. Along with leading the acquisition of the land to develop Diamond Oaks Golf Course, he was instrumental in establishing the City of Roseville Joint Use Agreements with Roseville school districts in order to share facilities to supplement community growth. Bob has continued to be an active member of the community participating in many organizations such as the Roseville 20-30 Club, Roseville Rotary Club, American Legion, Roseville Elk Lodge, Saint Rose Catholic Church, Sons of Italy, Coon Creek Trap and Skeet, and Auburn Trap Club.
