COVID vaccination appointments available

There are still many COVID-19 vaccination appointments available for this Wednesday and Thursday at the county's clinic @the Grounds.

Given the county's greatly expanded vaccine provider network, plateauing demand, and steadily decreased vaccine allotments from the state to Placer County Public Health, Placer County will begin to demobilize the mass vaccination clinic @the Grounds and redirect focus toward areas of the county with greater challenges to vaccination access.

This means that after this week, they will no longer offer first dose appointments for the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines @the Grounds, and may offer limited J&J appointments in the coming weeks as they finish second doses.

In the last four months, Placer County has built up its capacity to administer vaccines - including other mass vaccination clinics run by large healthcare systems, more than two dozen pharmacy outlets, and small clinics.

As Placer County Public Health shifts their efforts, they will also redirect surplus doses to local providers who report having ample capacity for both more vaccine and more patients.

Goat grazing returns

Don't worry about the herds of goats descending upon the city, they are our newest (and cutest) four-legged employees.

Goat grazing is an environmentally friendly option for open space management. Goats assist with thatch control, invasive species management and help reduce potential fire load due to dry grasses - not to mention they can get into canyons much easier than mowing equipment.

Licensed contractors needed to repair homes in
Roseville

We are looking for licensed contractors interested in bidding on housing repair jobs to preserve housing occupied by low-income families and help revitalize neighborhoods.

Repairs can include electrical, plumbing, roofing, window replacement, and more.
The work is done through Roseville’s Housing Rehabilitation Program and is funded by federal government.
