The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued updated guidance for use of face coverings.
From December 15, 2021 through January 15, 2022, masks are required to be worn in all indoor public settings by people ages 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status. Some exemptions apply.

This is the final week to review and comment on the 23 City Council district maps submitted by the public as part of Roseville’s City Council redistricting process.

At its December 20 public meeting, the Roseville Independent Redistricting Commission will select a smaller set of maps to be considered further.
This final group of maps will be the subject of six public meetings to be held in January to receive public feedback. The Commission will make the final map selection at its January 24 public meeting.
The Independent Redistricting Commission is comprised of community members and is empowered to adopt the new district boundaries without City Council approval.

The City of Roseville is developing three specific plans to encourage pedestrian-friendly design, public amenities, streetscape beautification, appropriate parking, access to transit, flexible and mixed uses and housing for the following commercial corridors:
1. Atlantic Street
2. Douglas Boulevard and Harding Boulevard
3. Douglas Boulevard and Sunrise Avenue

While power outages in Roseville are rare, there are steps you can take to help “weather” any storm.

Keep your cell phones charged, some extra cash on hand and your gas tank at least half full.

Plan for batteries and other alternatives to meet your needs when the power goes out.

Review the supplies that are available in case of a power outage. Have flashlights with extra batteries for every household member. Also, have enough nonperishable food and water.
With high winds in the forecast this week, there are simple things you can do to help prevent a storm-related power outage. Make sure to properly store lightweight outdoor furniture and garden accessories and remove landscape debris. This prevents them from being carried away by strong winds and into overhead power lines.

Here are some simple, cool-weather conservation tips:

Keep vents open and air flowing. Closing doors and room vents puts extra strain on the central heating system.

Open drapes and shades on sunny days to let in heat from the sun; close them at night and on cloudy days.

And, set your thermostat to 68 degrees and lower it to 55 degrees at night or when you’re away from home. Remember that if you lower your thermostat by two degrees during the winter, you can save about 10% on the operating cost of your heater.
