Conservation is something we can all take part in to make a difference. When electricity demand is highest (between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.), there are simple steps you can take to save energy:
-
Set air conditioning thermostat to 78 degrees, if health permits.
-
Do not use major appliances (e.g. oven, dishwasher, clothes dryer).
-
Turn off unnecessary lights in your home.
-
Unplug unused electrical devices and power strips.
-
Close blinds and drapes to keep the heat from the sun out.
-
Use fans when possible.
Roseville Electric Utility has a number of resources available to ensure you are receiving the most up-to-date information and conservation tips. Find out more by visiting roseville.ca.us/planahead.
