Every 10 years, the City of Roseville’s Independent Redistricting Commission comprising community members must re-establish the boundaries for the five City Council districts based on the new census data.
“You have a chance to shape Roseville’s future by participating in this process,” said Paul Frank, Independent Redistricting Commission Chair. “Come to one of our public meetings or send us your maps and ideas. All of your input is important to the Commission as it determines our City Council district boundaries for the next 10 years.”
The online mapping tool that can be used to submit draft maps will be available October 26.

At 10:15 a.m., this Thursday, October 21, Placer County along with Sacramento and Yolo counties will conduct a test of the Placer Alert emergency notification system. The test is in conjunction with the 2021 Great California ShakeOut exercise.

To ensure continued robust access for COVID-19 vaccinations including boosters, Placer County Public Health opened a small COVID-19 vaccine community clinic at the Maidu Community Center, 1550 Maidu Drive in Roseville this week, and is exploring a second site.

Roseville was named the 8th Best Place to Live in America in 2021 by Livability.com.
Specifically, Livability.com highlighted Roseville's "low cost of living (especially compared to other parts of California) partly because the City operates its own utilities, which translates to lower household bills."
The study ranked more than 2,300 cities across nine categories.

In August 1971, the Barton Road Water Treatment Plant was officially dedicated to the Roseville community. It started treating, filtering and pumping clean drinking water to a community that historically relied on groundwater wells and ditched water for drinking water.
The impetus for the treatment plant came when in 1967, Roseville established a 40-year agreement with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to obtain surface water supplies from Folsom Lake. As plans were underway to obtain the new water supply, the community coined “Going to Folsom.”

Two temporary mobile generators are now online in Roseville following six weeks of construction at the Roseville Energy Park.
The two generators were deployed by the Department of Water Resources (DWR) following an emergency proclamation by the governor in July. Each unit can produce up to 30 MW of power, totaling 60 MW of power.
The generators would be deployed under emergency conditions determined by the California Independent System Operator (ISO) under a contingency plan developed in coordination with the CEC and the California Public Utilities Commission.

Trail construction along McLaren Drive, between Rocky Ridge and Thistle Down Drive, will take place 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. The project is estimated to last about two weeks.

The Roseville Police Department is participating in the Pink Patch Project to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout October, you’ll find Roseville Police Officers proudly wearing pink patches to show their support for breast cancer research and awareness.
This is the fourth year the Roseville Police Department has participated and now you can participate too. During the month of October, any member of the public can get a patch for $15 (each) donation. All proceeds go to the Placer Breast Cancer Foundation.

Roseville City Council is accepting applications from citizens 18 or older residing within the City limits of Roseville to serve on the Grants Advisory Commission.
The Commission meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. and annually reviews all proposals and grant applications for the Citizens Benefit and R.E.A.C.H. Fund.
Submit your application by 12 p.m. Friday, October 29.
