  19. Roseville, CA - Placer County will host a public workshop Nov. 19 in Roseville to discuss opportunities for future development of the Sunset Industrial Area. The county is taking a fresh look at this area that has long been viewed as a job center just waiting to happen. The 8,000-acre area of unincorporated Placer County is surrounded by the cities of Rocklin, Roseville and Lincoln, and it is on the cusp of a massive transformation. For dozens of years, the area has been zoned for industrial, agricultural, commercial and open space uses, but the county is currently updating the master plan, and the early research shows that a wider variety of business types may be a better fit for the area. At the workshop, county staff will share the market findings, early concepts about the future of the area and seek the community's input about how to best re-brand and develop that area for the long-term success of South Placer. Workshop Details When: Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM Where: Material Recovery Facility, 3033 Fiddyment Road, Roseville, CA 95747 Those who can't attend the meeting but would like to receive future updates on the project may request to be added to the project distribution list by sending their email address to piostaff@placer.ca.gov.

Announcing the return of Neighborhood Santa! Santa and his elves are visiting Roseville neighborhoods on December 7-18. Route information available beginning November 2. Although Santa lives in the North Pole, he doesn't want to risk getting sick before Christmas so all visits are weather permitting. (Look for updates by 5pm each evening to ensure the entire route hasn't been canceled due to weather. Weather changes that impact Neighborhood Santa during the routes causing partial route cancellation will be posted on the Roseville Parks, Recreation & Events Facebook page as we are unable to update the website remotely.) Although Santa would like to visit all neighborhoods, he just can't fit everyone into his busy schedule but hopes to get to more neighborhoods next year. He will also not be able to visit with children one on one during his neighborhood tour but his elves are stocking up on little treats for the crowd. Santa will be making three “limited stop” locations that will show up on the city’s Neighborhood Santa event map.
