c.1879 Historic Fiddyment Ranch Home, West Roseville
National Register of Historic Places, #10000503
From the Roseville Historical Society Preservation Committee...
MARCH 2016 PROPERTY UPDATE
- Tenants have vacated the property.
- City officials are reviewing the property status and are negotiating what repairs Signature Development will be responsible for before City takes over the property.
- Extra security patrols have been ordered by City.
The purpose of this committee is to engage with the city and community in the following ways:
-
To understand the maintenance schedule, its costs and any ramifications repairs would have on the historic property.
-
To ensure that the site is protected as repairs are underway. There are two structures on the site currently in dangerous decay; the original 1879 smokehouse and cooler buildings. Both are brick structures with original mortar.
-
To communicate to the community about the property and the potential it holds for its positive impact on Roseville and its history.
-
To find and write grants and fundraise for preservation funding.
-
To engage with the City of Roseville about the future use of the structure, i.e. to create a public place where the community can appreciate and learn about this incredible part of Roseville’s past.
Smokehouse brick structure built in 1879. Current state; 2016
