Roseville, CA - Placer County will host a public workshop Nov. 19 in Roseville to discuss opportunities for future development of the Sunset Industrial Area.

The county is taking a fresh look at this area that has long been viewed as a job center just waiting to happen. The 8,000-acre area of unincorporated Placer County is surrounded by the cities of Rocklin, Roseville and Lincoln, and it is on the cusp of a massive transformation.

For dozens of years, the area has been zoned for industrial, agricultural, commercial and open space uses, but the county is currently updating the master plan, and the early research shows that a wider variety of business types may be a better fit for the area.

At the workshop, county staff will share the market findings, early concepts about the future of the area and seek the community's input about how to best re-brand and develop that area for the long-term success of South Placer.
