Bosch announces $225 million CHIPS Act funding agreement for $2 billion Roseville investment

Bosch has announced a definitive agreement with the U.S. Department of Commerce's CHIPS Program Office for up to $225 million in direct funding to support its $2 billion investment in its Roseville semiconductor facility.

The site, which has more than 40 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience, has begun sample production in Roseville and expects to start commercial production in 2026, further strengthening the city's role as a hub for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

“A CHIPS award for Bosch is more than an investment in one company; it's confirmation that the Sacramento region has arrived as a national hub for innovation, advanced manufacturing, and next-generation industry. It accelerates the momentum we've built and sends a clear signal: this is where global companies come to scale, collaborate, and lead.”

– Mayor Krista Bernasconi

The Transportation Commission reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council related to the community’s transportation needs; including public transit, traffic circulation, bikeways and pedestrian facilities, and transportation systems management. The Transportation Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 311 Vernon Street, unless otherwise noticed.

You can access applications online, by calling (916) 774-5267, or by visiting the City Clerk's Office (311 Vernon Street).

road resurfacing

Junction Boulevard and Fairway Drive road resurfacing update

Crews are continuing work to improve road durability and traction. The surface will appear coarse, and some loose gravel may shed as it cures. This is normal and will lessen over time.

Expect occasional rolling lane closures in the coming weeks. Watch for flashing red signals and flaggers. If no flaggers are present, treat flashing red as an all‑way stop. Travel with care in the work zone.

Resurfacing is expected to be complete by late summer.
