    Join us at the dedication ceremony for Norm Fratis Park, Roseville's 66th park, at 10 a.m. on Sat, Dec. 3. The park is located in west Roseville at 2400 Corin Drive. Map Fratis Park was constructed by Signature Homes on behalf of the City of Roseville. This five acre park contains a covered picnic area, children's play area and separate swing area, multiuse turf area, two half courts for basketball and one sand and grass volleyball court.     The following is from the City Parks Department... We have received many inquiries regarding the grass at Festersen and Nichols Parks. I wanted to be sure to convey that the grass is not dead, but is in fact, healthy and thriving. The type of grass is Bermuda and it goes dormant (turning brown) in cold weather.     The city has informed us that the alternative location for the fenced, off-leash dog park is scheduled for the April 18th City Council agenda. The staff report will be posted on the city web site this week. Once it is posted we will make available here also.     From the City of Roseville: I am writing to inform WFFNA board that the City will be constructing a monitoring well at the Bud Nichols park next week. The monitoring well is for groundwater monitoring and is part of the City's Western Placer County Groundwater Management Plan. The duration of the construction is expected to be about a week.     From the City Parks Department - also see attached map As a follow up to the City Council meeting in December, an alternate site for the dog park (from W-53) has been identified. It is currently private property but is located south of the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Attached is a map showing the location. The Park & Recreation Commission will review the alternate site and accept feedback at the February 6, 2012 meeting. The meeting is located in the Council Chambers at 311 Vernon Street

    From Rosevlle Parks & Recreation... Please be assured that the current conditions at Fratis Park are on our radar. The following actions are planned: Pruning and mowing started today. Corrections should be finished on this aspect by end of the week/beginning of next week. A separate team is working on addressing the replacement of landscaping, which will include new bark mulch.
