September 20, 2016 7:00-8:30

1)     Welcome : Introductions

2)     Measure D: 

a)     Loren Cook shared the RJUHSD ballot language (Link below)

b)     The Resolution calling for a District election, plus the Bond resolution; the arguments against and for Measure D. (Link)

c)      The District volunteers are being rallied.  Lawn signs are distributed, and request for volunteers was made.  (Link)

d)     Loren shared that Ron Severson superintendent of RJUHSD may be the guest speaker (or designee) at the October FFNA/WPNA Annual meeting.  Voting for the Board is done at this meeting.  We need as many residents to come and vote as possible. Oct. 18th 7:00pm at Chilton Middle School.  

e)     Dan summarized some arguments pro/con of the pending Measure D bond

 

3)     Elementary Schools:

a)     Joe shared information about RCSD Superintendent Derk Garcia's presentation on the Elementary School District at last week’s NA Board meeting. He outlined the plan for the WP school now under construction and future builds.  (See attached approved attendance boundaries.) pending, available soon

b)     School naming for the WestPark school will go out to the public. More information, naming suggestion window is open through Sept. 30th. (Link)

5)     HS Steering Committee: update

Curtis shared that the next tentative meeting date would be in mid January.

 

6)     Roundtable:

a)     A request was made for posting more information via NA websites, Facebook and NextDoor. 

b)     Joe (and Sue Vn Zant) suggested that the schools committee could be absorbed into the regular NA meetings with an agenda item or the schools committee may be absorbed into a 6th HS advisory committee based on the results of the bond vote.  There was general agreement, more discussion to follow.

c)      Dan and Scott again emphasized the need to maintain positive, factual conversations on social media and with neighbors.

d)     Curtis distributed lawn signs and the meeting was ended at 8:10pm

7)    Next meeting:  October 18, 2016 at Chilton Middle School Library

 

Goal: This committee is dedicated to the promotion and support of schools in West Roseville, with the immediate goal of opening the 6th RJUSD high school.

The Fiddyment Farm Neighborhood Association is NOT an HOA and there are no fees or dues. Fiddyment Farm Neighborhood Association is a member of the Roseville Coalition of Neighborhood Associations.  We are here to:

  • Provide an open forum through which all members of the neighborhoods can participate in the identity, social culture, growth, development, and activities of the neighborhoods.
  • Identify and communicate the issues and concerns of the Association members to the Roseville Coalition of Neighborhood Associations, the City of Roseville, and other appropriate entities.
  • Keep all members of the neighborhoods informed regarding issues vital, or of interest, to the well-being of the neighborhoods.
  • Encourage and facilitate communication and cohesiveness among all the people of the neighborhoods. To act in cooperation with government and non-government agencies to preserve and improve peace, safety and property values in the neighborhoods.
