What: Larval mosquito treatment
Where: Western Placer County agricultural areas

When: June 14 & 15
The agricultural areas, rice fields and marshes of western Placer County are scheduled for an aerial larvicide treatment. Larval treatments involve an EPA-registered biorational mosquito larvicide applied by a low-flying aircraft in an effort to prevent the emergence of adult mosquitoes and reduce the risk of mosquito-transmitted diseases. Treatments will occur during the daylight hours, most commonly in the early morning through the early afternoon.

Click on the below map to zoom in on planned treatment areas.

The below map illustrates the approximate locations of rice fields in the county as of June 2021. Larvicide treatments will only be applied to irrigated fields.
