Recycling this holiday season

Whether you're stringing up twinkling lights, adorning your evergreen with ornaments, enjoying the company of loved ones, exchanging gifts, or maybe even doing all the above, let's not forget that recycling can bring an extra dose of holiday cheer while helping reduce the waste pile.

Here are a few jolly ways to recycle and keep our landfills merry and bright during the holiday season.

Water faucet

Water saving tips for the new year

Did you know that a running toilet can waste about 200 gallons of water per day? Be sure to check the house for leaks as you return your home to normal after the holidays. If you're hand washing the good china or silverware after your NYE party, fill one basin with soapy water and the other with rinse water.

And hopefully, Santa brought you a new WaterSense or ENERGYSTAR-labeled dishwasher or clothes washer this year!
